SpywareLocker is a Malicious Scam

SpywareLocker is a rogue security program created to convince you to spend your money.  This malicious application displays constant security alerts and fake online scanners to convince you that threats and infections are on your PC.  SpywareLocker is malware itself, and capable only of causing problems.

SpywareLocker hopes that the security warnings will alarm you, and that you will download their product to remove the supposed infections that exist.  The truth is, SpywareLocker has no ability to scan your PC, so any supposed infected files are created by the program and are harmless.  This corrupt program cannot detect any malware or other parasite on your computer, and cannot remove anything either.

How to know if spyware is on your PC

Most people don’t know a lot about spyware, so here are a few clues to help you decide if malicious software resides on your PC.  First of all, you will probably notice that your PC seems to be acting strange – constant pop-up ads and security warnings, a slow or unstable PC.  Your computer may seem to ‘lock up’ at times, or your browser may send you to strange websites.  A switched home page or new toolbar in your browser may also be signs of spyware.

Where SpywareLocker comes from

How does malware even get on your PC, if you didn’t put it there?  Good question.  SpywareLocker and other rogue security programs often install without your knowledge, when you download other programs like freeware, videos or games.  It ‘bundles’ with these programs, so you do not notice it.  Sharing networks and visiting websites that may be malicious are other ways that malware may become placed on your PC.

Malicious activities of malware

You now know that SpywareLocker and other malicious malware will try to steal your money, but these programs are capable of other things as well.  SpywareLocker may actually track what you do when you surf the Internet.  Information such as your search queries and the websites you visit may be collected and sent to third parties, where it may be used for malicious intents.  Private data like personal passwords and online business account information may also be at risk.

If you believe that spyware exists on your PC, you should remove it at once to avoid further security problems and possible damage to your computer.  Manual removal is possible, but not advised unless you are an expert in the process.
