Sunshine Spy Does Nothing But SPY On You

Sunshine Spy is a rogue security program that actually spies on what you do when you surf the Internet.  This application is malware, although it claims to be a legitimate security tool.  Sunshine Spy claims that it will detect and remove spyware and other parasites.  The purpose of the scheme is to take your money for a product that is useless.

This malicious application displays misleading security alerts and fake online scanners in an effort to alarm you and make you believe that threats exist.  Results of these scans are made up, and are harmless.  Sunshine Spy is incapable of scanning your PC.  This imposter cannot detect or remove any infection or threat from your PC.

What spyware does

Most of these malicious programs actually collect information about your online interests.  Sunshine Spy may gather data about the searches you perform and the websites you visit, and transmit it to remote servers.  Third parties will use this information to advertise toward your interests through pop-up ads and spam e-mails.  Your personal information may be accessed as well, which could put your personal identity at risk.

Sources of malware

Where does malware come from?  You are probably curious as to how Sunshine Spy would be installed on your PC if you didn’t do it yourself.  Spyware often installs when you download other programs like games or videos, although you won’t know it at the time.  Malicious websites, shared networks and spam e-mails are other sources of malware.

How to decide if you have spyware

If you do become infected with Sunshine Spy, there are several symptoms that you can’t help but notice.  Your PC will likely become much slower or unstable.  Security alerts, pop-up ads and fake online scans will slam you at every turn.  Some people notice that their home page has changed, or that their browser sends them to strange websites they did not intend to visit.  If the problem is really serious, your computer may even crash.

When you decide that malware has been placed on your PC, you should remove it immediately to avoid further problems.  Manual removal is possible, but unless you are very knowledgeable in the process you should avoid trying to do it yourself.  Severe damage to your PC may result if not done correctly.
